Paul Burgess is interested in all things related to the concept of the Rule of Law. In this regard, he works within and is interested in legal theory, legal history, political theory, public law, economics, and constitutional theory. He also has an interest in artificial intelligence and the ways in which the law and legal institutions will need to adapt in order to cater for, and understand, AI in all of its guises - something he explores in detail in his forthcoming book: AI and the Rule of Law.
